Webinar: Global Food Security
Updated: Jul 26, 2021
On June 04, Motivo hosted a great Food/Ag forum focused on one of the most pressing industry challenges: global food security. 70+ industry leaders/brands participated in the session including Smithfield Foods, Kubota, CNH Industrial, Sun World, Autodesk, JV Smith, Cummins, and SVG Ventures-THRIVE to name a few.
Motivo CEO, Praveen Penmetsa, presented a mini keynote outlining the global food security challenges and perspectives on COVID-19 market realities (e.g. changing consumer expectations, farm to table automation opportunities). Moderated by Tyler Nuss (Modern Acre Podcast/Rivian), the Webinar proceeded into a Panel Q&A with contributions from Michael Gomes (VP, Precision Agriculture - Topcon), Carlo Mondavi (Co-Founder - Monarch Tractor/Raen Winery), Jeff Morrison (Director of Innovation - Grimmway Farms), and Robert Muehfellner (VP, Product & Innovation - B&R Automation).
Key themes of the Panel Q&A included:
Based on COVID-19, what changes to the global food system will be permanent versus not?
What sectors of the Food/Ag industry are most ripe for innovation?
What should be done to increase the resiliency of the global food system?
How does the Food/Ag industry justify the required cost of automation?
How will the Food/Ag investment landscape change?
Motivo will be hosting more of these forums in the coming months. If you're in the Food/Ag industry and would like to participate in future events/our community, please send an email to events@motivo.com.
